Assisiting Sophie Higginson for Marie Claire

Last week I was incredibly lucky and got to assist the immensely talented Sophie Higginson for an editorial shoot for Marie Claire.

It was such a hot day, 34 degrees and we were out in the sun for a part of the shoot but the model was such a pro. She was was wearing thick jumpers and coats as it was a shoot for A/W outer wear, but she didn't complain once! and the photos are absolutely stunning.

watching Sophie work was such dream as she makes it look effortless and the makeup was absolutely beautiful, I learnt a lot and feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to work with such a dream team. Definitely something to aspire too. Below are a few BTS shots:

Neon Freckles

I got creative again with my good friend and very talented Sarah Rider. We were lucky enough to have access to a new look book of models for first model management so we chose Chloe and got creative, we are very proud to say it has been published in Imirage Magazine, for the full editorial go to to order a copy or check them on my feed @lucyjmakeup but here are a few from the shoot:

Adidas young Athlete shoot- Chesterfield

In June, I was hired by we are dink to shoot an Adidas Campaign for Sports Direct training with a Young Athlete called Alicia Barrett. The shoot was in Chesterfield, near Sheffield so I got the train up the night before and was on the track at 7.30am. It was a boiling hot day and we shot until 12.30. Alicia was a true professional and I can't wait to see the images once released.

Prom Hair and Makeup

Also last Friday I was very lucky to do Hair and Makeup for Maddys Prom. Maddy's Mum Nicola was one of my very first clients when I first started out a couple of years ago and she has been one of my biggest supporters, so I was very honoured to get Maddy ready for her leavers prom.

Below are a few images of hair before and after and her winged out makeup:

wedding guests

On Friday of last week I was very lucky to be invited to Do Make up for Mother of the Groom, Laura and Makeup for Jo who is Girlfriend of the Grooms brother.

It was such a lovely job as the family are gorgeous people, they made me feel very welcome and they both looked stunning at the end, below is a selfie of Jo but I will post official images once I get them:

Adidas Back to school campaign

Last week I got the opportunity to work for @wearedink again, on a adidas back to school campaign for sports direct.

It is always such pleasure working with @wearedink as they are very professional but have fun at the same time, and they always make me feel very much a part of the team and they deliver amazing content.

This shoot was no different, it was a fab location in Islington which was a dis-used music hall which took a while to find.....but once inside was well worth it.

The models were four teenagers who were good fun and the pictures will be fabulous, below is a few onset images:

Last week I was invited by We are Dink to a job in Liverpool. They trained me up on Monday evening so we could be on set for 8am. The client was Under Armour and the model was non other than the very talented and fast rising super star Trent Alexander Arnold. The shoot was amazing and I had a peep into the world of celebrity footballers. The campaign will drop in June so I will keep you posted but for now a sneaky image.

This week I had the ambitious idea of shooting in Margate. I have set my sights on being published in Lucy's Magazine. I asked my super talented friend @sarahriderphoto if she fancied the task of being my photographer for the shoot and happily she said yes.

When I was on the Most curious wedding show I met @peonyvintage who runs an incredible vintage clothes shop in Margate but who also wants to do more styling and model @jessjardim, they both agreed to join us.

The day was crazy and very long but such a good and learning experience, in hind sight I think I planned too much for one day and don't think the images we ended up with are Lucy's, but we have got some incredible shots and we had a brilliant day. I have gained a lot from this shoot and will not give up on my quest. Here are a few location shots, real images will follow shortly.

Steam punk

Quite a few months ago I was approached by a lady called Barbara from Italy. She and her partner are wedding photographers and they wanted to come to the UK to do a styled shoot at Dalston Heights studios and they asked if I would be interested in doing the makeup. I obviously jumped at the chance as the brief was Steam Punk.

It was an amazing day, the first hot and beautiful day of the year. The team that were hand picked by Barbara were truly talented people and it was an honour to be part of the shoot. I am not allowed to post any proper images until the real ones are published but I can show a few sneaky peeks:

Last week I was approached by a guy from a company called life collective London. It was very last minute but he asked if I could do the makeup for a lady called Stella, artist name Se.v.en7

she is an up and coming singer song writer and has an EP coming out that they wanted to do promo for.

I am so glad I did this job, it was amazing, Stella is absolutely gorgeous and was so open to being creative, we shot at a very cool studio and it was a very talented team of young creatives. I cannot wait to get the proper images but for now here are a few sneaky shots:

Nike Air Max Day

This was an absolute treat. I got asked by my good friend Lindsey Peel if I would like to join her on a two day shoot for @wearedink, doing a promo video to be played in all large Sports Direct stores celebrating Nike Air Max Day. The first day we were in a Studio in Holborn filming the video. I worked with Lindsey on Hair and makeup, and the @wearedink boys were an absolute pleasure to work with, along with a fantastic model called Karim(@kf96_) and the day was brilliant.

The second Day I travelled to a studio in Battersea where I went solo on hair and makeup on the same two models, but this time it was for the instagram feed for Sports direct uk and sports direct football, releasing on Nike Air Max day(March 26th 2018)

I had a brilliant day with Barney and @willcorneliusphotography, the stills went well and it was a fantastic shoot and I cannot wait to work with them again in the future.

Here are a few BTS shots: Day One:

Day Two:

Most Curious Wedding Fair

To date this has been my proudest job and one that I loved every minute of. I was absolutely honoured when I was invited to head up a team of hair and makeup artists to create the looks for two catwalk shows across two days at the Most Curious Wedding Fair.

I got to design the looks based on mood boards that had been inspired by Becky Hoy-Hale from the most curious team and Luke Reene the lead stylist.

The week before the show the weather took a turn for the worst and "THE Beast from the East" was heading our way. I took the decision to head into London a day early as I could not risk not getting there! It was absolutely bitter in town and there was proper snow everywhere which is a very rare sight.

I had a room at The Premier Inn in Aldgate which was a ten minute walk down Brick Lane to The Old Truman Brewery which is where the show was held. The venue itself was absolutely freezing and it didn't warm up all weekend but apart from the cold the weekend was AMAZING!!!!!

I met and got to hang out with some fantastic people, and I was surrounded by a crazy gifted and talented bunch. It was so inspiring to see all the different ideas and so refreshing to see a change to the traditional wedding theme, long may it continue.

The shows themselves were fantastic and I am very proud to say that I was a part of this event(I even got to meet Kat Williams from Rock & Roll Bride!!) My lovely family came and supported me as a surprise, I got to see JO from @joloveshair and I fell in love with Jo Fleming from @joflemingdesign(go check her out she is sooooooooo talented and lovely too. I made really good friends with Emma from @epiclovestory(shamazing photographer) I also got to work with some very talented ladies from the Love Hair Tribe and all in all had a blast!

Thank you to the Most Curious Team for having me, It was an absolute Pleasure. Below are some images of my journey in and the snow in Town, you can see some of the beautiful images from the show in my Gallery.

Bobbi Brown - Pixiwoo Masterclass

This day was like a dream come true for me. Ever since I discovered the creative world of makeup, I discovered Pixiwoo and have followed and learned from them ever since. When I found out I had got a place at the Bobbi Brown - Pixiwoo Masterclass I could not believe my luck, and it did not disappoint. The girls were amazing, very down to earth, friendly and personable. It was such a great experience and one that I will cherish forever:

On Location

At the beginning of February I was thrilled to be asked by fabulous photographer @fay_not_faye If I fancied doing a shoot on location in a gorgeous London Park, I did not need asking twice. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and got a glorious, crisp, winters day. We pitched up at a fantastic cafe in the centre of the park and got to work, here are a few images from the day:

Sarah Rider Shoot

To start the year off in a creative way I joined forces with Sarah Rider again and came up with the idea of a water themed shoot and a Unicorn inspired theme. I love working with Sarah, she always gets my creativity and runs with it. We had a blast and got some amazing shots.

Here are some of the behind the scenes images.

Fay not Faye

In December I was contacted by a talented photographer(@fay_not-faye) I had been following on instagram asking if I would like to shoot with her and a stylist called Alice(@achadbandstyling) I obviously jumped at the chance! the theme was retro pop and I had such a good time coming up with some really colourful looks. I can't show you the colour versions yet but I can promise they will be worth the wait! Below is a sneaky peak!

I feel very lucky to say that in December I got to meet and take part in a masterclass with uber talented Lou Seymour, run by the equally talented Jo Irving and the "JO Loves Hair tribe".

I got to meet some lovely ladies and learnt some invaluable tips, it was such a pleasure to watch Lou work as she makes it all look effortless, and it has really inspired me to continue improving, bring on 2018!!!!

Home shoot

In Early December I got the chance to collaborate with photographer Sarah Rider. We set up the studio in my lounge and used the beautiful and talented Thea to model for us. I decided to style two looks. One was a Spring/Summer 2018 forecast look and the other was a winter look using the current trend of face gems. We were more than pleased with the results and there are way too many good ones to show but I have picked a out a few. We are planning another shoot very soon.....

I absolutely love this time of year for lots of reasons but one of them is Halloween. This job from yesterday was an absolute pleasure to do and so much fun!

Mac Stewart - Music Video

The reason I think I love my job so much and why I feel so very lucky to do it, is the variety that it offers me and the opportunity to meet so many new and interesting people. Back in February I took on the new challenge of a hair course at the Session school in London and it was the best decision I ever made. Whilst on the course I met a fab person called Lindsey Peel, we got on well and since then we have worked together on a few exciting jobs and the job we had last week has been my absolute favourite, so far.

The two of us were invited to do the make up and male grooming for a guy called Stewart Mac and his band whilst recording the video for Stewarts latest single "Radio". The lads were such good fun and made the day a really special experience from start to finish. The whole team got on well and worked brilliantly together and  I really hope we get to work together again. Below are a few shots of the day but I will post the finished results once I get them.
